An event happened yesterday 5th March 68Yrs ago ,only 9 miles away from me, on a small airfeild that was to change world war II history. Apart from a small congregation and a few small news clips this event has gone all but unnoticed. 'WHAT THE HELL IS HE TALKING ABOUT ??' I here you shout. Im talking about the first flight of the 'Spitfire' I thought it such a shame that this event went by with hardly a sound that I had to say something. At least the local people ,some of which worked on the Spitfires h.ere during the war ,have placed a memorial to the fact. There was supposed to be a Spitfire flyover at the memorial unveiling , but it was grounded due to fog 'pfft' Ok gripe done This is Reginald Mitchells son standing next to the memorial.

A beautiful aircraft, flown by brave men. Saved yer British arses they did ;D Without em, you'd be speaking Deutche, and us Yanks would still be trying to figure out how to do an amphibious assualt across the Atlantic.
