aight first off, g-luck against FU... damn bastards..  second, I am looking into tourney options... I was hoping for a Clash For Cash II tournament... i figured with 8 teams, with a simple and e z payment of $30 per team... $240... with a payout like this.. Top 4 teams: 1st- 90 2nd- 70 3rd- 50 4th- 30 Also am looking into changing the max bomber and going to 4 bombs again.. like 2 bombers, 4 bombs.. 3 bombers 4 bombs.. whatever... also experimenting with NIGHT maps if we go with 2 bombers ect... i think we need to spice things up a little bit, and I think the whole night thing would do it... would like to try to do this the old way... 2 fight per teams so there is no Side 1 side 2 dispute sh*t, and who hosts sh*t... u kno... so basically 8 teams= 16 wars... that makes for a long season I know, which some won't like... and can be changed obviously... but i was looking to do this in the fall/winter... an i kno it snows lik hell in alot of areas, so people might posssibly have the time then to make this happen... in ewither case, im just looking into things that we could do that might possibly change the schemes and looks of things.. kinda like the 2 bomb sh*t did... any suggestions on what u would like to see and if PR would be interested in lik a Clash For Cash II tounrey would be greatly appreciated... would like to see this happen as the last tourney hosted like this by GR was a success... as im sure this one would be... I was also looking into possibly having T-shirts made for the champions... u kno.. for example... SE Clash For Cash Tourney CHAMPS! then with a design... that could be made ect... would be pretty tight and i don't beleive that it would be 2 expensive.. maybe sum has a plug and knows sum1 who could do this real cheap... would just give us all sumthing to remember this game by.. since it is fading father and farther every yr.. which is what happens... anyway... looking forward to responses to this, hopefully we can get something like this going eventually... take it e z guys and gl this weekend... late nl |

The Clash for Cash was fun(PR finished 4th, for $50)...but I think the atmosphere these days may be too charged for a money tournament again. I could be wrong, of course. Even without money involved, people are at each other's throats. Throw dollars in there and who knows what might happen. When GR held the Clash, the community as a whole was a bit more harmonious, in my opinion.
As for the game format, I only have a few comments:
1. The last two tournies have been 2-bomb format. Every squad out there has improved their bombing runs markedly(squads are now finishing targets on the small maps as quickly as they did with 4 bombs). If we were to return to a 4 bomb format, even with two bombers...it wouldn't make the rounds any longer.
2. Night time rounds are fine with me....as they would be for any bomber. Night only hurts cappers, and does nothing to bombers. In L3, the targets show up just as easily at night as they do during the daytime. But, I have noticed that fighters have trouble lining up guns at night time.
3. I think having a season where everyone plays everyone twice is a good idea. Let's face it, its not like the old days, where squads were chomping at the bit to host tournies. So, having one long season in a year would be fine with me. If that were the case, I would have it such that you don't play the sane team twice in a row. Have it like a regular sporting season....PR plays SE 1 week, then plays them again in 3-4 weeks, playing other teams in between. Right now, every war is critical in a tourney...but, if you are missing people a particular week, there is nothing you can do about it. If we play everone twice, for 16 wars, it makes each war less a little bit...so if you aren't at your best one week, it doesn't kill you. My only suggestion here would e to schedule weekends off. Naturally, you'll have holiday breaks...might be good to have the schedule revolve around them(first week of wars is second week of October, so then first break is Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then maybe a break in Feb...).
4. T-shirts are a cool idea, but maybe not practical. We usually have 12-16 people show up for each and every war...but only 8 fly in each war, and its always a different 8. So...if we won the tourney, how many T-sh*trs do we receive? Eight? Sixteen? Who gets 'em? I suppose the best answer would be winner gets 10 shirts, or something like that... Might be a cool idea.
Anyway...just a few thoughts. Whatever is next in L3... PR will be there for it.

I aree with with u about teams being able to finish things just as fast... but do remember... if u put 3 bomber max... means cappers... some bombers can do what they need no matter the cap, but face it, the majority can't... this will eliminate bombers who are "average" I would put it.. All im currently thinking about... You are right about capping in night, it is harder, only a idea if we go to the low bomber max that Nighttime will br brought into effect.. As far as the community, they were at each other throats during the Clash For Cash that GR had... everyone wanted to win, even thought its not much money.. It was the chance to not only get a little amount of money, but to say u won something in L3.. As far as the t-shirts, your right... a little unpractical, but is possible.. im bring up ideas that would possibly stur some interest... T-shirts is something that you could even frame if u so wanted to. or on a sunday afternoon, be walking around with ur L3 tourney champs shirt on as u prepare to kick the sh*t outta FU..  Either case, Like I said this would need to be decided upon as a community... The schedule would be similar to a NFL football Season... No, they wouldn't play each other back to back.. you would play, have a few more wars, then play again... it would be a long season your right.. 16 war weeks, plus prolly 4 off weeks, possibly a few more.. Might take a few months to complete... SE,PR,FC,FU,IE,UX,25TH, i believe will make the long haul on it... Need one more squad that would be able to fit that role.. As far as u having 16 people show up for wars... damn.. share the wealth.. lol... like I said we need to talk about this... If someone can get a cheap deal on t-sirts... we could possibly work this out for 20 to be made... although that is very unrealistic... but remember..it could happen.. I know we all can;t be so broke that we couldn't throw in a little money to get a damn T-shirt... we threw enough of our lives, money, away playin this thing.. what is another 12-15 bucks... anyway thx for the input... I hope you can talk to other leaders, and get input from them.. In regards to the posting: As some of you on L-3 know, my wife and I own a clothing manufactrueing and design company. We could supply the shirts and submitt art work for such, for the winning team free of charge. These would be one of a knid shirts and could have the squad members call sign on it as well as other art work. The shirts would not be our manufactured product, but would be a high quailty shirt aviable in T-shirt form{probably Hanes or furit of the loom} As well we work with two screen printers and recive excellent service and priceing. With the suggestions of art work from squads and related competition members we could post a link from our corprate web site were members could vote for the style and design they want. The final desicion would have to be agreed upon in an advance fourm. Production turn around time is appx. 1 week and could be mailed directly to indivisuals, or one rep. from the winning squad. Damn Axeman, talk about coming through... that sounds awesome m8... that would be tight if we could do that... anything that would give some type of memory to the time that we have spend on this game im sure would be appreciated.. not by just the winning team but all of nova... I am still looking to hammer out the details... waiting for some of the squad leaders of all the squads to kind of get in contact and see what would be appealing to them... how they would like the tourney to go ect... Also who would host... I have talked to the 25th about possibly havin a joint 25th/SE tourney... Need to get this all settled away and the format so teams can prepare ect.. Either case, Like I said this would need to be decided upon as a community...
