well, i watched ThePassionOfTheChrist... one word: visceral... if you don't feel anything during/after watching this movie, you're probably dead and buried.... 
this movie wasn't entertaining... it didn't convert me... it wasn't 100% "accurate"... it was a touch Anti-Semitic (if you look hard enough)--Romans didn't fare too well, either... but it was powerful--simultaneously beautiful and repulsive....
if you need a reason to go see this film, then see it to find out what all the fuss is about... try not to winch, and don't get popcorn....
