This morning I was browsing the PF forum and some one posted that for the VE Day 60TH celebrations in Southampton there would be a flyby of WWII aircraft including a Lancaster bomber. Wow !! I thought, since its only 15 miles from me off I went. It was awesome, first was a flyby of 7 fighters including a P51 and P40. They then proceeded to dogfight over the water.
Next was the Lancaster bomber escorted by 2 fighters ,one being a spitfire built near here at Woolston. The Lancaster was a beautiful sight ;D and when the Spit started doing straffing runs at the pier, where we were stood ,the hairs on the back of my neck stood to attention.
To think I nearly missed it.
